MNO Synod Youth Events

Whitehorse - Here We Come
By car, by train, by plane, by bus (charter and Greyhound), more than 200 young people (and their leaders) from MNO will be making their way to "Travel Light" in Whitehorse. Pray for safety, good health, inspiration, wisdom, and for the Spirit to use us to be "light in our world." All are invited to a service that will "send us off" on August 10 at 7:00 pm at Messiah Lutheran, 400 Rouge Rd. , Winnipeg. Most of our groups will be registering in Edmonton on Monday evening prior to boarding the buses for the National Bus Trip that will take youth from Edmonton to Whitehorse. The Gathering (CLYG) takes place from August 14-17. By August 20, we should all be back sleeping in our own beds.

How 'bout that Band?
Four people from MNO were chosen to be part of the National Youth Gathering Worship Band, Daniel Jordan, Thomas Jordan, Jeremy Langner, and Connor Trueman. Jason Zinko, MNO seminary student, is coordinator of the Band. Others from our Synod also auditioned, but weren't chosen this time round. And then there is Prairie Fire who will be leading the Saturday Late Night Service in Whitehorse. How 'bout that?

OUT OF AFRICA is this year's theme. If you haven't seen the information that was mailed to your congregation, (or have by chance misplaced it), don't sweat it.

Begin making plans to attend A Behind the Scenes Look at.... OUT OF AFRICA. Last October, four young people from our MNO Synod traveled to Africa (Global Encounters - Canadian Lutheran World Relief) to experience firsthand how God is at work. From their experiences in Rwanda, Uganda, and Mozambique, they will assist young people in MNO to explore how people and communities coming together can create positive change, working for peace and reconciliation, working for dignity and justice for all, answering the call to live out our faith.
