FOR YOUR CALENDAR: |
|
| Happy Early Easter | |
Easter is always the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring
equinox which is March 20. The dating of Easter is based on the lunar
calendar that Hebrew people used to identify passover which is why it moves
around on the Roman calendar. This year is the earliest Easter any of us
will ever see. Only the most elderly (95 or older) of our population have
seen it this early and none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day
earlier! The next time Easter will be this early (Mar. 23) will be the year
2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913. Pastor Bill Lehman |

| Eleventh Annual PB Jam | |
Eleventh Annual PB Jam was held at the University of Manitoba on Tuesday, March 11. This year, about 2000 sandwiches (some just jam for those with allergies, but mostly peanut butter and jam) were made by students, chaplains, campus peer ministers, and faculty, for Girls and Boys Clubs across the city. The workers were an ever changing stream of people, as students and faculty came and made sandwiches between classes. This annual event is sponsored by the University of Manitoba Chaplains Association in conjunction with Winnipeg Harvest. Thanks to the congregations who supported this venture financially, in order to purchase the bread, peanut butter and jam. |
