Fanta’s Orphan Program…
One of the projects that we have undertaken within our MNO Cameroon Companion Program with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cameroon (EELC) was a nutrition program for 50 – 60 orphans. The Protestant Hospital in Ngaoundéré (under the auspices of the EELC) has an employed certified social worker, Gaknone Fanta, who has the responsibility of maintaining the health and welfare of children whose parents or caregivers have died as patients (many have been infected by the HIV virus.)
In some circumstances ten children can be living with a grandparent, relative or even a neighbour
For six months we have been assisting these children with supplemental nutritious food (e.g. Ground nuts (peanuts), rice, powdered milk, oil, etc.) The purchase and distribution of the food has been accomplished by Fanta.  Fantais a young charming mother of three whose great concern is the health of deprived children.
In most cases they do not attend school.

  • To supplement the diet for one child…                $50.00/year
  • To send one child to elementary public school…  $50.00/year
