“A Caring Sharing Family In Christ”
Redeemer Lutheran Church is located in Brandon, a city of 45,000. Founded in 1965, the church is family oriented. Our church is wheel chair accessible. Services are held every Sunday at 10:00am. Holy Communion is celebrated on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. All our services are on power point or can be followed in the Hymnal. Coffee and fellowship follows each service.
Groups within our church are:
Sunday School: Meets every Sunday at 11:00 am for children age 3 to grade 6.
Confirmation Classes: Grade 7 and up
Bible Study groups: We have two study groups – one meeting weekly in the evening and another meeting monthly in the afternoon.
Evangelical Lutheran Women: Meet once a month. The program varies each month. The ladies take on a project each January/February to make quilts to send to Canadian Lutheran World Relief to be distributed where needed. As many as 100 quilts have been sent in one year. The ladies meet once a month for Saturday breakfast.
Men’s Breakfast: Group meets every Saturday morning.
Church Choir: Approximately 15 choir members are led by 2 Brandon University music students and meet weekly to prepare special music for service. Choir is open to everyone who likes to sing.
Joint Service/Picnic: Every June we enjoy a joint outdoor Communion service and picnic with the 3 Anglican churches in Brandon.
Various potluck suppers and special events including our Fall supper and Shrove Tuesday Pancake supper take place throughout the year. Being a community minded church we regularly collect food for those in need and have the Scouts, Beavers and Cubs use our basement weekly. Monthly the Memories Car Club and an Icelandic club meet. Two Saturdays a month the Egyptian Coptic Christians use our church for worship.
Recent renovations include: a Geo-Thermal heating system and a wheel chair lift for access to the basement. |
